In Good Comapany is created and performed by Chicago-based Theatre Y, an ensemble dedicated to radical inclusion and public engagement through performance. The project was initiated by the Goethe-Institut Chicago, Germany’s global cultural institute, as part of a national series that explores how shared public experiences can foster understanding, empathy, and civic imagination across diverse communities. In all three cities, the project features a collaboration with Helgard Haug of the internationally renowned German performance collective Rimini Protokoll, known for radically expanding the possibilities of theater in public space.

In Good Company: Milwaukee is organized in collaboration with the Goethe House Wisconsin. The project is funded by the Executive Board of the Goethe-Institut.

Performance

Wild Space Dance Company’s InSite program returns for its fourth season with a FREE, immersive dance performance at Havenwoods State Forest. Guided along wooded trails, audiences encounter dance woven into the landscape, invited to fall into the rhythms of the natural world. Featuring Ometochtli Mexican Folk Dance and guest choreographers, this site-specific performance celebrates local ecosystems and urban wilderness. Comfortable walking shoes and a spirit of curiosity are all that’s required.

Come for one, two, or all events!

Preshow talks with Havenwoods park rangers will illuminate the fascinating history of the site - from penitentiary and farm to internment camp, to missile silo base, and now, a thriving state forest within Milwaukee city limits.

A Room Shaped Story

7:30pm, Friday, April 18th

4pm & 7:30pm, Saturday, April 19th

Broadway Theatre Center - 158 N Broadway

Step inside a world where walls shift and stories unfold. In this evening-length premiere, Artistic Director Dan Schuchart and guest choreographers Katelyn Altmann and Ashley Ray Garcia present a collection of abstract narratives told through movement, all taking place within the ever-changing boundaries of a single room. A dynamic set of moving walls frames and reshapes the action while dancers delve into storytelling through physicality, space, and transformation. Intricate ensemble work and bold solos reveal stories that emerge, collide, and dissolve—inviting the audience to experience a poetic dialogue between body and space.
