All About LIfe

In this exhilarating tangle of full-bodied dance and clever wordplay, the company encountered love, loss, barking lessons, and all that life has to offer. Witty, insightful and dramatically charged, All About Life was created by Artistic Director Debra Loewen in collaboration with Wild Space Artistic Affiliates Mauriah Kraker, Monica Rodero and Dan Schuchart.

"...the feeling you get watching Wild Space Dance Company will make you want to grasp the hand of the stranger next to you and simply say, ‘this is so good.”

In Luscious, Artistic Director Debra Loewen and guest artists premiered new works that fused the sweet and forbidden, dreamy desires and tempting realities. The performance featured Fevered Sleep in a dance set to composer Tim Russell’s musical improvisations.  Vocalist Amanda Schoofs joined company member Laura Murphy in Layers, a duet blending dance and vocals. Completing the show was a solo by Jade Jablonski, a new company work infused with the luscious familiarity of chocolate and a Wild Space favorite, In This Condition, performed by company member Mauriah Kraker.

"Loewen's deeply thoughtful, unpredictable choreography
was constantly fascinating and generous."

Inspired by appetite, the culinary arts and the pursuit of satisfaction, Wild Space Dance Company served up Delicious, a moveable feast of inventive dance and wry humor that will delight audiences in any community. Flying dishes, favorite and feared recipes, onstage cooking and directions on good dinner manners filled the Delicious menu.  Through interwoven vignettes of theatrical movement and full-bodied dance, performers revealed desires and disappointments in the pursuit of satisfaction.

“...a remarkably deft mix of visual, musical and gustatory
elements that evoked memories of mom in the kitchen
and big family dinners…”
