Map of Memories
2008
Map of Memories, tells the story of Milwaukee, Wisconsin's Jones Island. Inspired by the lives of Polish, Kaszubian and Eastern European immigrants who founded the Island's fishing village in the 1870s, Map of Memories merges expressive contemporary dance with images and text. Prior to the evening performances, Milwaukee historian and author John Gurda will reveal the island's journey from thriving fishing village to harbor hub.

“Map of Memories engages moment by moment, and the moments add up... ... Compelling and dazzling... a beautiful and lyrical show.”
- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
